The Wolfson Centre for Bulk Solids Handling Technology are proud to co-sponsor the IMechE Seminar on Bulk Handling in the Waste, Recycling and Biomass Industries. The waste processing and recycling industries are a major growth area around the world. However there are special challenges involved due to the nature of the materials; variable, poorly flowing, low density, and the tendency to self-heat, amongst others. To highlight these challenges, Professor Mike Bradley, Director of the Centre, will be presenting “Getting it moving”: Flow problems and solutions for waste and biomass materials.
This presentation will cover:
•Why are some of these materials so problematic? The basics of their flow behaviour
•Characterising their flow properties ;
•Choosing equipment to suit the materials in hand
•Troubleshooting flow problems ;
•Dealing with variability

Handling of waste material is necessary to keep our environment healthy and green. There are lots of kind recycling equipment are avilable to handle the different kind of waste. We should also concern about waste control and recycling of the waste material. ■
