Conforma Clad Expands Technology to Protect Screens

New Albany, IN – (December 19, 2007) Conforma Clad, a global leader of severe wear solutions, introduces its infiltration brazed tungsten carbide coating to screens.

Conforma Clad® screens last up to eight times longer in field tests than standard stainless steel screens. Additionally, the use of Conforma Clad cladding allows for the substitution of less expensive carbon screens in place of stainless steel. Conforma Clad screen capabilities include screens up to 4 feet by 12 feet (longer lengths may be possible), with screen openings inch and larger (screen opening size may need to be adjusted to accommodate coating thickness).

Common screen types include: woven mesh, wedge wire and grates, expanded diamond and perforated screens.

Proven Results- Power Generation- One coal fired power plant installed stainless screens to protect their SCR equipment from popcorn fly ash. In less than 6 months, the screens were torn apart and had to be replaced. The plant decided to install Conforma Clad screens, and after nine months, the screens showed little wear.
