Dear all,

I want to design cooling water system pipeline for vacuum pump. This system will install completely with copper coil( heat exchanger ) , storage tank ( 960 liters ),transfers pump , 2 numbers liquid separator and 2 numbers of two stage water ring vacuum pump.

Heat is transfer from CHWS through the copper coil to the water storage tank. My problem is , how to determine and maintain the water storage tank temperature within 8 °c - 10 °c. Please see the attached drawing.

The given Data :

- The required Cooling water temperature for both of Vacuum pump is 8 °c - 10 °c.( water supply from storage tank to vacuum pump)

- Water inlet temperature to storage tank (water return from vacuum pump and liquid gas separator ) =17°c - 24°c

- Chilled water supply Temp to copper coil=6°c

- Water storage tank volume=960 liters

- Copper coil size=12mm OD

- coil surface area per M: 0.0377 m

- coil length per circuit=12 m

- Numbers of coil circuit=8

- coil weight per circuit=4 kg

best regards

I know someone from here working on a patent for a cooling system such as the one you described. I'll find out more, and you may want to look into that if you think it is suitable for your needs.
