They are expensive.

In many situations (considering that the need for shots are rare and that they take only few minutes to conclude the task), a digital camera (non- Ex) can be used. In this case, a safety procedure needs to be issued, to garantee that the gas concentration will be kept under the LEL during all the time shots are taken.

If shots need to be taken frequently, an Ex digital camera is recommended to be available at site.
