Speed Control by Pressure Transmitter

Dear Sir,

i want to control the blower speed by pressure transmitter. ie, Each opening has a pressure transmitter, the signal is coming from pressure transmitter and control the speed of motor by giving the signal to PLC and VFD.

(we need to control the speed by giving signals from pressure transmitter to PLC and VFD)

I want to know whether it is possible or not.

Please give me some valuable solution.

Dear MOHAN:

please tell me what pressure being measure and where is the location of the sensor. What's each opening? I think you need an electric circult.

Hi Mohan

In this application you have to consider automation techniques and process

as Automation

1. what is the sensor output (4~20 MA / or RS 485 / any protocol or digital output

2. depending on sensor output you have to select PLC input module , for your sensor out put 4~20 mA , you have to select analog input module , most probably it will be 8bit , but you select protocol you have to go higher bit

3. coding PLC program , basic of analogs /and you need to basic calculation of Moving average , stacking / PID controlling etc.

4. choose best brand of sensor its very important

as process

1. if you fixed duct system , same production environment (dust level can vary ) static/dynamic pressure will not sharply change (it very slightly ) , if you changing blower speed you have to consider fan Lows

RPM X CFM

RPM X (S.Pr)^2

RPM X (KW)^3

2. PID Tuning is very essential

3. or you can purchase multiset point pressure transducer (even 2~3) , you can get digital out put

then you can directly give signal to VFD , these speeds are pre calculated speeds
