Mr. Dimitrios Varsos is the Overseas Sales Manager and R&D Manager for STAD srl, a company designing and producing dynamic weighing system for bulk material handling.

Born in Larissa, Greece, in 1960, earned his MSc in Mechanical Engineering from Bologna University in 1989. After serving in the Hellenic Air Force as assistant flight controller, began working in the ceramic machinery sector (specifically bulk materials handling and processing) and progressed to a vast array of industrial applications in recycling, chemicals, foundry, iron smelting, glass, human and animal food industries. While working, pursued postgraduate specialization studies in Ceramic and Glass Engineering at the University of Bologna and later on a Master in Business Administration at Heriot Watt University Edinburgh Business School (ongoing).

With a work experience of +25 years in Bulk Materials Handling, Mr. Varsos is an successful project manager with a solid background in engineering, design, production and research. Author of several patents and publications in peer-to-peer specialized journals, travelled in 38 countries to work with people in multicultural environment, bringing always back the result.

Bilingual in Greek and Italian, fluent in English and autonomous in Spanish, hes a long life learner refining day by day his skills in engineering, management and languages, always pushing the envelope. As a manager and project leader, coordinated and mentored multidisciplinary teams with calm and open-mind attitude, solving conflicts and delivering results within time, cost and quality parameters.

Proudly serving the community as a volunteer in the Italian Red Cross, hes ambulance driver rescue team leader and first aider and earned the gold medal citation for blood donations.
