Maybe.

Can we ask why?

Calculate the load on the idler and determine if this is acceptable.

Will the idler launch the material - if so, is this acceptable in your application?

As lyle has said WHY????????????????????

Installing a center roller in an elevated centerline in an idler set does several

very negative things for any conveyor.

1. it increases amount of the drag/friction on the entire center roller compliment of the

conveyor belt flight.

2. It may create a pair of conical piles along the entire belt length if the material

is broken small enough and if the belt is traveling slow enough.

3. it reduces the amount of ore the belt can transfer as the belt is not allowed to

create a heaped center/conical cross section in the center of the the conveyor belt.

4. it would increase the stress on the center line of the belts webbing and the vulcanising glues used to construct the belt.
