Can There Be A Fire Accident?

Erstellt am 18. Mar. 2010 - 06:07

Dear Experts,

The polymer rollers vendors claim that their rollers are extremely light in weight, so power cost is much reduced. Since they are non sticky belt off tracking problems are eliminated.

I have seen polymer rollers with independent support for each bearing.

So even one roller fails, roller will continue to rotate. So the rollers life will be doubled.

If at all, this roller is jammed, there will be raise in temperature because of running belt.

Will it lead to fire accidents?

Regards,

Pipe maybe standard in some countries, but not in others. Most often electric reistance welded (ERW) tubing is used. This has a more accurate TIR and balance measure than pipe.

Pipe is for slow conveyors. It comes with more mishapen diameters, varying wall thickness, more run-out or banana shape and higher imbalance. Not good for belts running above 4 m/s, idlers with greater than 500 rpm, and roll diameters less than 152 mm. Even at these limits pipe has questionable use. But, its cheap.

You should have a third selection for ERW tubing. Even then, for high speed conveyors further refinement is required.

Plastic has its place.

Thank you Mr.Nordell.

I fear possibility of fire accidents, if I they get jammmed, though I am not sure.
