Hello dude,

I have designed a pneumatic conveying system with high pressure(about 50 bar) and high pressure drop(5 bar) with an air flow rate of about 20 CFM.

anybody has suggestions about what type of air flow meter is most convenient for me? I think hot wires and anemometers are the best for me.

glad to hear from you

regards,

Mohsen

Dear Mohsen,

A pneumatic conveying system, working at 50 bar with a pressure drop of 5 bar is a LOW pressure system.

The pressure ratio is (55+1)/(50+1) = 1.098

(An atmospheric system with 1 bar pressure drop has a pressure ratio of (1+1)/1 = 2)

The calculation of such a system is possible with the algorithm of any pneumatic conveying system, by replacing the end pressure by a back pressure at the end.

With the application of a positive displacement pump, I do not understand right now, why an air flow meter is required.

Is it for controlling the airflow?

An airflow of 20 cfm ( 0.566 m3/min) is very small, it must be a very small system.

Best regards
