LOUISE rotary discharge machines replace system from 1964 in Göllheim

In 2008 AUMUND Foerdertechnik of Rheinberg, Germany received an order to supply three rotary discharge machines in low profile design for the transport of dihydrate, anhydrite and limestone to the Göllheim plant of Dyckerhoff AG where they are currently commissioned. The new discharge machines replace a system that had already been equipped in 1964 with portal-type rotary discharge machines of former AUMUND daughter company LOUISE Fördertechnik.

The rotary discharge machines with a conveying capacity of 20–200 t/h and a travelling dedusting filter installed in each of them, will be used to discharge and meter additives in form of dihydrate and anhydrite and limestone from a storage hall.

In addition to the discharge systems, the supply scope for Dyckerhoff comprises one belt conveyor (1m/s conveying speed, 250 t/h conveying capacity) and three belt weighers including the complete control.

The Göllheim plant is one of five integrated cement plants of Dyckerhoff AG, Germany. The German plants have a cement capacity of in total 7 million tons.

LOUISE rotary discharge machines ensure the reliable discharge of totally different bulk materials such as limestone, marl, dolomite stone, natural and FGD gypsum, coal, minerals or additives from silos, hoppers or piles. In cement plants the rotary discharge machine is used above all to discharge raw material. Equipped with an electric control, the rotary discharge machine moves within the discharge channel on rails in both travel directions. Thanks to the logarithmically curved discharge arms, even bulk material with poor flow properties can be discharged uniformly. The rotary discharge machine is adaptable to completely different applications and, depending on the requirements, comes in block or low profile design. The low profile designed model destined for use at Dyckerhoff is a unilateral discharge machine which allows swivelling to one or both sides and features rapid advance for travel operations. The rotary discharge machine travels on the support structure of the discharge belt conveyor along the hopper table. In the swivelling version, the rotary discharge machine travels to the pre-selected areas where it discharges the bulk material.

The block type rotary discharge machine is designed for two-sided discharge of a wide variety of bulk materials from longitudinal hoppers or silo batteries. The machine equipped with hydraulic drive and frequency converter discharges the bulk material over the hopper table at a controlled rate.

AUMUND is a supplier of complete solutions from the conveying and distributing, the discharging, blending and proportioning to the complete stockyard technology for a wide range of handling processes. The specialists of the Lime-Gypsum department concentrate above all on processes during the manufacture of gypsum plasterboards, in flue gas desulphurization systems, during the lime production, in quarries or during the processing of raw materials.
