JACOB PIPEWORK SYSTEMS, now with innovative powder-coating

With its new state-of-the-art powder-coating system, the JACOB company, based in Porta Westfalica, Germany, is continuing to strengthen its market leadership in the field of metallic, modular pipework systems. The ultra-modern plant is almost completely automated and guarantees not only a faultless external coating, but also a continuously even internal coating. The even internal coating is achieved by inserting mobile lances into the pipe components. At the same time, an innovative new type of powder is employed. The new powder is electrically conductive and complies with the strictest of requirements regarding contact with food stuffs. All of the materials used meet the "FDA" food-grade requirements of the "Food and Drug Administration", the US regulatory authority responsible for food safety.

Further benefits: The pipework system is secured against electrostatic charging by the simple combination of the manufacturer's easy-to-install pull-ring connections and conductive U-shaped seals. It can therefore be used safely for ATEX applications, with no problem at all. The customary earthing cables and earthing lugs are no longer needed. No additional or expensive installations or welding work is required for retrofitting existing systems.

Although the innovative new powder-coating material is more expensive than the previous materials available on the market, JACOB intends to keep the current catalogue prices for its modular pipework system stable and unchanged throughout 2009.

Jacob is the leading manufacturer for pipe systems based on the modular concept in Europe with a world-wide market presence. Pipe systems for bulk material handling as well as dust extraction and exhaust air units for environmental engineering (cooling air/exhaust air) are the largest application areas for JACOB pipe systems (diameters 60 - 800 mm or larger for customised production, 1-3 mm pipe wall thickness, steel pipes are primed, galvanised or stainless steel).

Easy installations, in addition to innovative developments and the ability to quickly deliver from the warehouse, ensure an outstanding position for JACOB pipe systems in all industries which employ metal piping for manufacturing processes.

The main customers are in the food industry (e.g. coffee, cacao, chocolate, sugar or in grain processing), the tobacco industry, the chemical, pharmaceutical and plastics industries, automobile manufacturing, concentrated feed plants, the chip industry, machine construction or in the paper and building materials industries.
