Material flow properties testing
Diamondback Technology can provide all your bulk material flow properties testing needs, including those requiring special handling, such as hazardous or moisture-sensitive materials.
Using the Johanson Indicizer® System and other patented equipment, Diamondback Technology=s lab technicians can measure
•Segregation potential from various mechanisms
•Cohesion, friction and adhesion
•Compressibility
•Compaction pressures up to 6,000 psf
•Degradation
•Permeability
•Dustiness
•Density
We also can determine worst-case or best-case materials or components and can duplicate humidity, temperature and time conditions from sub-freezing to 2000 F, dry as well as submerged and can perform scale model tests and pilot plant studies.
Diamondback Technology interprets the test results in a written report complete with all data and any applicable standard equipment design recommendations, including a conceptual sketch. Test results are completely confidential.
Warranted standard and custom equipment designs
We design raw material bins, product storage bins, process feed bins and chutes, purge vessels, surge bins, transitions, air permeation systems and other accessories that will provide trouble-free processing performance.
If we test a material, we warrant the design and can also provide structural engineering assistance for added confidence.

•The Diamondback Hopper, including special Diamondback designs exclusively for the coal and milling industries.
•The Diamondback Tumble and In-bin Blenders for complete mixing and homogenization.
•The Diamondback Densifying Screw Feeder for eliminating flooding, flushing and erratic flow, while providing excellent anti-arching capabilities.
•The Oscillating Plate Hopper, which produces plug flow or a first-in / first-out flow pattern and is an alternative for processing challenging, cohesive materials not suitable for other bins and hoppers.
•The Diamondback Air Permeation Unit air permeation unit, which through carefully located injection ports, can speed up powder flow rates as much as 1,000 times over that of powders without air permeation.
Licensed fabricators
Our network of licensed fabricators are all prequalified to produce detailed engineering drawings based on our proprietary designs as well as industry standards such as conical, slot and pyramidal hoppers, chutes, silos and other auxiliary equipment. Because they are independent of Diamondback Technology, clients can negotiate price, delivery and installation options without additional middleman overhead.
Plant visits
Plant visits are the quickest and most accurate way to identify and gather information necessary to solve bulk material handling problems. Diamondback Technology’s engineers will talk with plant personnel about the plant's operations, procedures and experience, will observe and take pictures of the various processes in operation and will identify any operational and equipment changes that may alleviate an existing bottleneck while a longer term solution is prepared.
Following the visit, Diamondback Technology prepares a report containing the findings, photographs of the problem areas and recommendations for improving the process to prevent hangups, while improving production rates where possible.
