& no of starts in belt conveyor steel guard system .

1.Is Bi-direction of gear box in conveyors necessary ?

2. will hold back arrangement required ?

And brief about no of start .

Gopianth..

Strange couple of questions, and I am sure we are not sure what you are realy getting at, but your answers are probably:

1) No...not in 99% of cases will it need to be reversible

2) Holdback will be required if you calculate the conveyor will run backwards when turned off with any load condition, as calculated with a low friction factor of 0.013 (You cannot put a holdback on a reversible conveyor.. you have to rely on brakes)

3) We select the drives that are able to start six times in half an hour

Ggopianth,

Bi directional as in rotating in both directions on a given installation or bi directional as in a drive suitable for multiple conveyor installations (handings) when in some cases it may be required to spin in an opposite direction to some of the other cases?
