Glass conveyor equipment with maximum service life

Glasko ensures that glass-reinforced plastics (GRP) are transported safely

Koch offers the glass conveyor equipment, Glasko with maximum abrasion resistance for dusty, glass-reinforced plastics. Right down to the fall-out flap the transport container is made entirely of thick-walled special glass that offers no starting point for wear and is even able to withstand GRP.

The increasingly frequent application of highly abrasive plastics, as for example in the automotive industry, places the most rigorous demands on the conveyor equipment used. No matter whether they are manufactured from stainless steel, cast aluminium or coated material, the service life of the conveyor equipment is greatly reduced by the extraordinary hardness of these plastics. The equipment will often only withstand the enormous operational demands for several months and then has to be replaced.

The glass conveyor equipment, Glasko with a five-year wear resistance guarantee for one or two components is a very effective and inexpensive solution to this problem. As its container is made from strong, hardened special glass, it has been possible to increase the service life a hundredfold compared to conventional conveyor equipment no matter what material is being transported. This special glass has been used at Koch for many years, even for pipes, where it has proved particularly effective. Further Glasko parts that come into contact with products are made from V2A stainless steel.

As a component from Koch’s modular unit assembly system, Glasko is compatible with all components. It can be used as a single conveyor or even integrated as a filter in existing or new centralised conveyor systems. Thanks to the collapsible conveyor hood and the pivotable glass conveyor, the equipment can be cleaned easily without tools. The integrated polyester felt filters with rotary blade dedusting guarantees separation to 3 µm.

For 33 years, the name Koch-Technik has been synonymous with innovation, precision, modular flexibility and cost-effectiveness in the mixing, feeding, conveying and drying of plastic granulates and plastic powders. Use of our equipment and systems in more than 4000 plastic processing companies around the world records the acceptance and high efficiency of these systems in everyday production work.
