Decline slope angle depends on many factors:

1. fill of crossection

2. lump size & percentage

3. stopping time

4. internal friction of material

5. idler spacing

6. belt construction, with proper longitudinal and tranverse stiffness to control against bulging between idlers during the stop.

Your 22 degrees is conservative with the caveat on stopping time and the other noted factors. So, if the stopping time can be selected to be compatible, then you could increase the declination, if the internal friction of the material is sufficient and belt carcass can be selected to be compatible.

Thank you for your reply.

At present, In design our the project have Decline slope angle depends at 22 deg, with:

1. fill of crossection: 65%

2. lump size & percentage:0-100, transport coal,

3. stopping time: 4500hours/year.

4. internal friction of material:transport coal.

So, we want your give expert about: idler spacing, belt construction, with proper longitudinal and tranverse stiffness to control against bulging between idlers during the stop...? to the system can work.

Thank you.

i dont know "stopping time". The working time in my system is 4500hours/year.

With regard to down hill inclination it is with regard to many factors (as Mr Nordell). The angle at which a material is stable is different when 1. Stationary 2. moving normally and 3. When stopping.

It is also different for different materials.

Dynamically the worst for downhill is when stopping as the surge can burst the pipe in some critical locations.
