The PARTEC Congress has been the catalyst for the exchange of knowledge and views between particle experts from all over the world for decades. Almost 60 per cent of the participants at the last PARTEC Congress came from abroad, which illustrates the global impact of this congress. Besides experts from Germany, specialists from the USA, Korea and Japan – the countries with traditional particle competence in science and industry – are especially strongly represented. The PARTEC Congress will again bring together some 500 particle specialists in Nürnberg from 27-29 March 2007. Synergies for the congress participants are created by the parallel Ostwald Colloquium organized by the German Colloid Society and the POWTECH and TechnoPharm exhibitions. The motto of PARTEC 2007: Innovations occur at the interfaces.
Many everyday products are based on particles that are manufactured or processed as powder, granules or bulk solids. Neither the manufacture of chemicals, food or pharmaceuticals nor the processing of catalysts, pigments, coatings, ceramics or food supplements manage without particle technology. The broad field of today’s particle technology ranges to nanotechnology and the sciences for the development of multifunctional particles or totally new materials.
The PARTEC Congress is the world’s outstanding forum, at which specialists from different scientific fields meet the various user industries to exchange the latest knowledge of particle technologies at the highest level.
The PARTEC Congress offers the around 500 expected participants a comprehensive survey of the latest research findings and experiences from the industrial implementation of applications.

The organizers of the PARTEC Congress headed by Prof. Wolfgang Peukert from the Chair of Particle Technology at the University of Erlangen-Nürnberg have succeeded in gaining leading particle specialists to give abstract presentations, in which the fascinating world of particle technology is examined from various viewpoints.
There will also be tandem presentations for the first time in 2007. These are presentations in which a topic is presented jointly by one expert from research and one from industry. These tandem presentations do justice to PARTEC 2007’s claim to support the transfer of knowledge between research and industrial application in a professional and highly effective way and make synergies experiencable.

The list of associations and organizations that sponsor and actively support PARTEC is becoming longer and longer. The following institutions are involved in addition to the organizing body, the Chair of Particle Technology at the University of Erlangen-Nürnberg: the American Institute of Chemical Engineers, the Society of Powder Technology of Japan (SPTJ), the VDI-Gesellschaft Verfahrenstechnik und Chemieingenieurwesen and the International Fine Particle Research Institute (IFPRI). New additions are the Association for Aerosol Research (GAeF) and the International Association for Pharmaceutical Technology (APV).
