LENOIR’S "MAGNETIC” SOLUTIONS for:

- protecting equipment (crushers, presses, calanders,

conveyor belts, etc.)

- guaranteeing product quality.

Lenoir (Delachaux Group), the European leader in magnetic lifting, separation and detection, provides a complete range of solutions for detection / separation and to ensure the safety of products transported on conveyor belts.

Detection/separation solutions for each industry

Backed by more than 60 years of experience in magnetism and the logistics of the Delachaux Group, Lenoir has developed a complete line of detection / separation equipment. Thanks to this, the firm is able to provide efficient solutions for the majority of sectors that use material handling belts to sort loose products: mining and quarries, food processing, chemicals, plastics, etc.

This very wide range of products is virtually unique on the market as the differences in the products to be treated makes for a difficult task. From one industry to another, the particle size and the fluidity of products to be treated, the working environment, and applicable standards all vary greatly and all are parameters that must be taken into account to provide the most suitable protection.

Why do products transported on conveyor belts need to be made safe?

The main risks with this type of material handling lie in the accidental presence of ferrous or non-ferrous metallic elements in the flow of materials being transported. These foreign bodies generally result in:

- cost premiums caused by the deterioration of equipment and the resulting

interruption in production.

- final product quality problems and the consequences for sales

Placed early in the production line, Lenoir’s detection / separation combinations make the process safe and guarantee final product quality.

Lenoir offers a wide range of detectors and separators specially designed for conveyors and conveyor belts.

To protect grinders and crushers in mines and quarries:

• Plate (DDMP) or frame (DDMC) type detectors are installed under the conveyor belt (for the first type) or around it for the second. When the presence of magnetic or non-magnetic metallic elements is detected in the flow of material, the detectors signal it with an alarm or by stopping the conveyor. When the contamination is only light, an operator removes the undesirable elements manually. If there are very frequent stops, a magnetic separator placed early in the production line is recommended. This separator automatically removes any metallic parts. The role of the detector is then limited to detecting non-magnetic parts.

• Metcorr: for difficult detection jobs

With a high degree of detection, this apparatus detects the presence of magnetic or non-magnetic metallic pieces in complex products in partially magnetic environments. A precise sensitivity setting allows the apparatus to be operational on a conveyor belt equipped with steel wires or to detect the presence of metallic elements on a belt carrying ores, even magnetic ones.

It is equally efficient on rocks with a reputation for being awkward, such as coke, bricks or tiles, etc. Another advantage of Metcorr for heavily loaded bands is that it allows up to 1200 mm of spacing between the transmitter coil and the receiver coil.

To protect the production tool and guarantee the quality of food products:

• The high detection non detachable Galaxy type tunnel (IP66)

This high sensitivity tunnel model is designed for production lines where no metallic particle may be tolerated, as is the case in the food industries. As the conveyor belt crosses the rectangular passage, the smallest metallic particle ( magnetic or non-magnetic ) present in the flow of raw material is detected by Galaxy. It is equally effective with packaged products. Galaxy is piloted by an electronic control unit – Monitor S or G – that is particularly well suited to the high demands of the food or chemical industries.

To extract metallic pieces from the conveyor belt:

• A wide range of overbands

To ensure automatic removal of iron or stripping of the belts, Lenoir offers numerous types of magnetic separators from the most traditional to the most sophisticated.

The electromagnetic overbands (OV) automatically eliminate all ferromagnetic pieces present on the belt. Their strength allows them to be efficient at high distances from the material flow.

The magnetic plate models with permanent ferrite magnets (OVAP) or Neodymium iron bore magnet (OVAPN) are guaranteed to be magnetized for life and need only to be powered by an electric gear motor, making them simpler to install and use.

• Magnetic or electromagnetic pulleys

Depending on the applications, Lenoir also offers magnetic pulleys with permanent magnets in ferrite or neodymium to be installed instead of the drumhead on the conveyors.

Thanks to its wide range of products, Lenoir can provide you with made-to-measure separation and detection combinations using standard elements for each activity sector and each particular application.
