Re: Bucket Elevator Design
Your requirement of bucket elevator is not exceptional and you can easily get suitable bucket elevator. You can use either centrifugal discharge type bucket elevator having speed around 1.25 to 1.5 mps or continuous type bucket elevator having speed around 0.7 mps. The centrifugal discharge type elevator will be economical but can have more dusting due to higher speed, whereas continuous type will have comparatively less dusting due to lower speed.
Hope the information may be of use to you.

Bucket Elevator Design
We have a few different models that can easily handle this capacity and product. The model DD, for example, would handle this with our "Easy Dump" speed. The belt speed on the model DD would be 145FPM. The model D3 would handle this capacity also. The model D3 would have a belt speed of 285FPM.
Please check out our website at www.universalindustries.com to see our product line and diffenent models. For further assistance, costing, and options, please contact our Sales department.
Thank You.

Bucket Elevator - Coal Handling Application
We manufacture several unique free pivoting chain and bucket elevators that would suit your application. Pleae visit our website at www.goughecon.com and you can easily submit an inquiry. Using one of our Swinglink Chain and Bucket elevators would minimize the dusting created at the headsection discharge of a centrifugal style bucket elevator. However, the centrifugal (which we manufacture as well) would be more economical. If you are also trying to protect the prodcut size then I would not recommend the centrifugal type unit. I would be intereseted in how you intend to feed the elevator. A twin rotary vibratory feeder would be a good feed source that would allow you to control the rate into the bucket elevator. If you want to remove the fines from the coal then a linear vibratory feeder/screener could be utilized to feed the elevator and remove the fines, which would improve on the dust management at the discharge of the bucket elevator. We would be pleased to offer more assitance if you could share the details of the application requirement.

Re: Bucket Elevator Design
You may also like to consider the relative advantages and disadvantages of belt & bucket elevators against chain & bucket elevators.
If your coal can be wet, then interlink wear with chains (even case hardened) can be a problem leading to rapid link pitch elongation as corrosion aggravates mechanical wear. Belts do not suffer this problem, but the head and boot pulley can be subject to material buildup and problems of belt tracking unless a cleaning mechanism is installed.
The coal can also start to build up in the buckets reducing the elevating capacity and requiring regular cleaning of the inside of the buckets.
Consider all possible problem areas against the specification of the coal that you will be handling. ■
Selection Of Bucket Elevators
With regard to your request for help to select a bucket elevator
as forwarded to us through bulk-online Apollo B.V. can inform
you as follows;
Apollo B.V. only designs, an built, the so called Z or C shaped
bucket elevators where the buckets are positioned between
two (2) chains ensuring always that open end faces top.
However your request for 2.400 ft3/hr, which equals 68 m3/hr, can not be done by our machine.
Our biggest machine, bucket elevator type 600, has a maximum
capacity of 59 m3/hr.
If this is still of interest for you, then please do not hesitate to contact Apollo B.V. direct.
We hope to have informed you with this sufficiently.
With kind regards,

Low Speed Bucket Elevator
I do not think that a high speed bucket elevator is a good solution to handle coal. Think about all the dust! Do you have an idea, how explosive your coal dust is?
Throughput is not an issue. Can be easily handled. Belt bucket elevator is the better solution for coal handling. Much longer durability. Less maintenance etc. Just have a look att www.Beumer.com.

Re: Bucket Elevator Design
DEAR SIR,
WHY YOUR GOODSELF DO NOT MAKE USE OF HIGH CLASS INDIAN EXPERTISE IN DESIGNING AND VERY COMPETITIVE PRICE IN MAKING FABRICATION AND DESIGN DRAWINGS FOR YOUR BUCKET ELEVATORS.THE ENTIRE WORLD KNOWS THAT COMPANIES LIKE BECHTEL,FLUOR DANIEL AND MANY MORE HAVE THEIR AGENCIES OR THEIR OWN OFFICES IN INDIA AND MAKING USE OF HIGH CLASS INDIAN CAPACITIES IN ENGINEERING FIELDS ,SIMILAR WAY AS SOFTWARE DEVLOPING COMPANIES ARE DOING.
WE CAN PROVIDE YOU DESIGN DRAWINGS,FABRICATION DRWINGS AND LIST OF INTERNATIONL/INDIAN SUPPLIERS FOR CHAIN,DRIVE ETC. WITH THEIR SPECIFICATIONS. I THINK WITH ALL THESE YOU CAN FIND A GOOD FABRICATOR IN YOUR COUNTRY OR THAT CAN BE EXPORTED FROM INDIA.

Need Some Experience
Hi,
you can certainly find some information in the literature on how to design a bucket elevator. To design a really good long lasting unit it needs some experience. So we developed special designed belts with pasrticular features together with our partner from the rubber industry which last much longer than common solutions. The bucket design and the spacing of the buckets is another specific topic. And certainly the loading and the discharge require some special knowledge.
So as I mentioned fixing some bucket on a vertical belt is not a big issue. Having this running for ten years and more is a different story.

Bucket Elevator design
Hello
I need help to select a bucket elevator. The bucket elevator has to transport coal with a density of 50 lb/ft3 and a size under 1/2 in. The coal flow has to be 2400 ft3/h and the bucket has to elevate the coal 45 ft.
The equipment is supposed to operate 8 to 10 hours.
Thank you. ■
