I have an enquiry which I need to determine what the EP rating would be on the following belts:

Specifications provided by our client:

VN100 x 4p (6:2)

VN100 x 3p (5:1.5)

VN150 x 4p (3:1.5)

VN150 x 3p (3:1.5)

As stated, I need to know what the EP alternatives are. I assume that the 3p and 4p indicate the number of plies and the brackets indicate the cover thickness.

I understand the manufacture Mitsuboshi use these types of belts - have tried to contact them without much success.

Hope someone can assist.

Thanks

Dear Mr. BLUK,

The belts mentioned by you were often used about 25 years ago. You will find the specific information of these belts in old catalogues of Japanese manufacturers.

Possibly, your specification means each ply rating x number of plies. The strength wise this can be replaced by correspondingly matching present day nomenclature of the EP belts. However, you have to also see the suitability of pulleys, etc.

For exact selection, it is imperative that you please locate the relevant catalogue (information) of PVN belts. You may refer to reputed belt manufacturers from Japan.
