CCD camera for powder inspection

Posted in: , on 13. Jun. 2003 - 19:41

Does anybody know, if there are online solutions available to determine brown or black specs in white powder based on a CCD image?

We have to do that manually right now and it is very time consuming.

You can do it with a line camera. You need to create a tin flow curtain with good background ilumination.

The efficiency of the process depends on the size of the particule and on the space you have after the camera to redirect the non conforming product.

Let me know if you need help.

Does anybody have any idea where I can purchase such a system?

I believe that you have to integrate a system.

You have choices with respect to camera, frame grabber and light systems.

Image Analysis

One of the most effective solutions is based on image analysis. Our institute is dealing with image analysis over more than ten years. We are working in the field of the characterisation of powders and porous materials. As to the technical realisation of image analysis, we are using a commercial hardware system including the necessary software.

We are experienced in the solution of metal powders, ceramic powders, mineral particle systems and others.

We don´t know whether there is a practicable online solution.

Please, don´t hesitate to contact us.

Hello,

My company manufactures and sells on-line colorimeters using digital video camera.

We have very good knowledge on powder & blocks measurement and our systems are correlated directly with the spectrocolorimeter of the plant laboratory of our customers.

Our systems are able to control all the width of a conveyor (belt or screw) , to give the color average of the product and, in the same time, to isolate different color classifications of bad colored products.

Don't hesitate to contact us, I'm sure that we will be able to help you.

Regards

we can provide systems/instruments to inspect powders and slurries for impurities or specks(dark or light coloured) , so although a bit late the requirement posted in 2003 can now be resolved very easily..

Hi I am looking for the same thing, unfortunately I did not come across any such application as yet.

The Closest i came across is this link on Elselvier: http://www.sciencedirect.com/science...279ca3d8cfe24b

Please do let me know if you come across any more information.

My manufacturing facility produces about 200 to 300 MT per month of powders and granules of various pharmaceutical API's. Recently I had a problem with one of our products. Our client found that one shipment had a few human hairs. Using a CCD based system would have minimised this incident. I am interested in a commercial application which can detect and remove contaminants and foreign particles including human hairs automatically. The machine should have a capacity to process about 200 to 400 kg per hour.

I can be reached on my personal email at rohseq at gmail dot com

Regards.

Ccd Camera For Powder Inspection

hey Everyone,

I think the pharmaceutical require fast, highly accurate inspection systems for detecting and separating foreign materials from large batches of raw granules and powders for ccd inspection

To perform outer-appearance inspection of these materials, JPS Imaging Limited has developed an inspection system that uses off-the-shelf machine-vision components, processing material at the rate of 100 kg for powders and/or granules with a density similar to that of granulated sugar Food manufacturers also use it to inspect raw materials, such as flour or sugar, prior to mixing and processing..

Thanks
