PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE IN CEMNT INDUSTRY Project Execution, Plant Maintenance & Operation , Administration: Jun’1986 to Dec’2006 > 21 Year Working experience in large Dry cement plant (Rajshree Cement – 4 MTPA Plant Capacity) and White cement plant- 0.5 MTPA belongs to “Aditya Birla Group- Grasim Industires Ltd (Cement Div)– The largest cement manufacturer in India.
During the service period with Grasim Industries Ltd- Cement Div, I have been executed major projects as under besides several up gradation and improvements jobs:
1. Closely Associated in Project Execution (Right from Planning, Execution) of Rajshree Cement plant – Unit I in 1986 and Unit-II commissioned in 1992 -capacity 4 MTPA was a part of Indian Rayons & Industries Ltd (Now merged with Grasim Industries Ltd) largest cement producer in India
2. Closely Associated in Project Execution and Maintenance work (Right from Planning, Execution & Administration) of White Cement plant Unit-I commissioned in 1988 and Unit-II commissioned in 1996 at Grasim Industries Ltd – Cement Div (BIRLA WHITE CEMENT) largest white cement manufacturer in India for which core Plant machineries supplier was Walchand nagar Industries Ltd and Technology from Thaieyo Engeering,Japan (Merger of Onada Engg & Nihon Cement Company), Pfeiffer Germany, Koppern Germany & plant Automation by MAX USA and XRD by FLSmidth.
3. Closely Associated in Initiating and Execution the Thermal Power project (Right from Planning, Execution & Administration) of 7.5 MW commissioned Nov’2006.

Before leaving of Grasim Industries Ltd in Dec’2006, I worked as Dy. General Manager as HOD (Project & Tech l) and was responsible for Projects and Technical Dept & looking after the following functions:

1. Project Management: Major Initiatives, Conceptualize, Design & Capex planning for Plant expansion, improvement project, scheduling on MS Project, PERT Chart. Also consider cost reduction project includes energy conservation schemes, estimation of Cost, Budgeting, Cash Flow, R.O.I, IRR, Sensitivity Analysis, Value Engineering, LCC & Technical evaluation, ordering, procurements & Execution.
2. Reliability centered Predictive and Preventive maintenance.
3. Equipments study related to performance & operation, Energy conservation, Alternative fuels firing, Vendor development for import substitutes, Formulation of improvement scheme, FMEA, Break Down Analysis.
4. DG House: Power Generation, OEE, MTBF, Maintenance, Training, Efficiency Monitoring, Vendor development for spare parts.
5. Monitoring of Safety aspects for entire plant and statutory compliance.
6. Challenging the present practices & developing new methods of doing the things.
7. Identification of projects & development jobs associated with quality & productivity by re-design of new raw mix & modification in existing system like:
a) TCS & Loop Duct for Alternative fuel firing(Petcoke, Husk, Scrap Rubber Tyres) in collaboration with M/s TEC- Japan to control over cost of production by reduction in fuel cost.,
b) Low Pressure Cyclone for power saving in collaboration with M/s PMT- Austria,
c) Unit-I Modification in collaboration with M/s TEC, Japan for enhance production significantly,
d) New Product “Wall Care Putty” Plant
e) Study of in process system to achieve higher productivity to reduce cost of production by Business Process Re-engineering project (BPR) for STP scheme for water conservation, R.O water plan, DG Waste heat recovery,Alternative fuels handling / Firing of: Scrap tyre Rubber , Petcoke, Agro waste, Process fans optimization by VVFD, Development& Indeginisation for Import substitute parts. f) Additional Cement Grinding Unit cap 30 TPH by installation of VRM of M/s Gebr Pfeiffer, Germany& New Packing Plant with Railway wagon loaders – (Project cost Rs 24 Crore).
g) Petcoke grinding Vertical Roller Mill of PFEIFFER,Germany includes Petcoke handling, conveying equipments include Silo construction for Petcoke storage, Fuel Firing, Loss in weight system, F K Pump.

Because of above mentioned various projects initiation by myself took during the year 2004 to 2006 a total saving of Approx Rs 4 Crore achieved. It was my my great contribution to company & significant achievement during the service tenure with Aditya Birla Group.
