Mpho Tshidzumba,
The answer is yes. As you increase the troughing angle, the belting becomes less pliable. The way it was described to me (take a piece of paper and roll it into a tube). The paper can support weight when rolled, but unrolled it can not. As a rule from most manufacturers, they don't reccommend a certified scale on a conveyor with 45 deg troughing idlers. ■

Thanks Todd,
It makes perfect sense. Especially when the belt is running at low capacities.
Thanks

Belt Scale Accuracy?
Trough angle a function of belt scale accuracy?
Good day,
I just wanted to find out if the troughing angle of idlers have an impact on the accuracy of elctromechanical belt scales.
Thanks
