Vibrating Screen with Unbalanced Motor

Posted in: , on 13. Dec. 2009 - 12:39

Dear All,

I am new in this forum. Appreciate some help from fellow forum users on the screener that we have built.

The screener is 1.5m W x 3m L with a perforated screen 5mm aperture.

Mounted at 5 deg inclined with 2 motor at both side at 20 deg from vertical line.

Weight is approx 400kg with 100kg for both motors.

The problem is material is accumulating at the center of screen and tends to wedge on the screen opening. Motor is getting very hot after 3-4 hours of running.

What could be the cause? Any ideas where to check first?

The motor is having 900kgf and set at 15%(135kgf). Could this be the reason for overheating?

Also the screen is sitting tightly on top of the screener body bracing. I heard that for the screen to work better, the screen should vibrate as well even after tensioning is this true?

Please advise.

regards and thanks

Some Thoughts

- 5 deg is pretty FLAT = SLOW FPM travel rate = material builds up on deck = turns load into a STATIC load vs moving load = too much weight on the deck = motors become overheated due to NON MOVING LOAD.

- try moving feed end up by 10-15 degress, to get flow of material moving.

- stroke seems to be kinda MINIMAL...and this leads to lack of stratification of coarse in material feed .....so fines CAN NOT access the opening in the perf plate

- WHY PERF PLATE? does not seem correct for this verbal data

1.5m x 3m screen will be be much heavier then 400 kg. G force is too small.

What is does mean that: "Also the screen is sitting tightly on top of the screener body bracing" - is the screen vibrating at all?

Any chance for some pictures or installation drawing?
