Hi Guys,

Trying desperately to find the dimensions of a 450kw bucket wheel reclaimer gearbox for a noise analysis.

I need the conformal surface area which is comprised of the height, width and length of reference box.

Help much appreciated. Reference books would also be of great assistance if possible.

Hi,

just contact one of the below mentioned bucket wheel drive gearbox manufacturers:

Siemens (former Flender): http://www.flender.com/ or http://www.siemens.com/

Eickhoff: www.eickhoff-bochum.de/

...

Noise analyzis of a BW-drive mostely depends on the type of design (bevel gear has a higher noise level than worm gear...)

Normally you should have 83 +/-2 dB at 1m distance. (theoretically at no-load tests, but on site everything is on a higher sound level... cutting noise, material impacts, chute sealings, bend pulley and than you can't say what comes from the gearbox and what from the other components)

Thanks for the help guys I'll let you know how I go.

Does anyone have access to a reclaimer gearbox that they can measure for me?

Have got the following dimensions:

3.0m x 1.5m x 1.5m (L x W x H)

Does this sound realistic?

Also, does anyone have an estimation for the rpm of the slowest shaft in the gearbox?
