FLSmidth Automation releases ECS/ControlCenter™

- with improved alarm handling and Windows Vista support

Copenhagen, Denmark, March 3, 2009

FLSmidth Automation has released a new version of its process control system, ECS/ControlCenter 7.8. This release includes improved alarm handling, targeting the increasing number of alarms experienced by many operators. Dedicating different operating screens to specific process departments provides a better overview and distributes warnings and alarms for more focused operation.

To further help fight excessive alarms a new Simple Alarm Analysis Module has been built-in to enable easy analysis of the problem on a daily basis. The analysis generates top-20 lists of different types of alarms and simplifies the process of sorting out repeated and faulty alarms.

Among other improvements, this version also comes with a new and stronger Trending module. All process information – analogue process measurements as well as operational machine status – is still logged continuously. Building Trend packages is now easier than ever, giving operators a very flexible tool for process analysis and optimisation.

ECS/ControlCenter 7.8 is designed to run on Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2003, Windows Vista and Windows XP. It comes with dual language support so that the operator interface can change between English and a local language. The system now also comes optionally with full Russian language support.
