Replacing fluid coupling with VFD drive in conveyor belt motor

My company is in steel biz-TATA STEEL.I am looking after stock house operation in blast furnace. We have 2 conveyor belts-MB#1(Length-311m, capacity-1140 tph, speed-2.1 m/s) & MB#2(Length-110m, capacity-1140 tph, speed-2.1 m/s). We have 2 HT motors in each belt(6.6 kv 450 kw). These belts are used for conveying raw materials like coke, sinter and additives into the furnace.Since we don't have a spare system hence health of these belts are very critical for our operation.

Motor is connected to the pulley through fluid coupling. But these days motor is having several problems-both electrical and mechanical.I suggested the mechanical drive to be replaced by VFD drive.I have done my home work but i want others to give their comments regarding feasibility(both financial and technical).
