You'd add dams to slow the material flow or when dewatering - in your case I'd rather change the inclination of the screen or the inclination of the specific deck only

Screening Dams

after the fact it is somewhat difficult but, as a pre-thought urethane or rubber can be order with dams built in (PREFERRED).

What specifically is the reason for wanting to do this.......SLOW material down to allow to pass ....I assume.

Could use a light gage rubber curtain......across full width of inside the sideplates to lay on the vibrating deck.......many people do this quite successfully....and this slows down the material.

OR possible.....sheave change to slow whole screen down....but, may cause probs on other deck surfaces.
