Stainless Screeners

Posted on 6. Mar. 2007 - 11:51

hey ZIGGY: Lots of people make STAINLESS STEEL screen boxes, SIMPLICITY, DERRICK, TYLER, ROTEX and I am sure a host of others.

We used them mainly in the GOLD mines, for CIP or carbon in pulp screening jobs....we needed that to deal with the caustic solutions they mix with the GOLD SLURRIES.

Fabricating with T304 STAINLESS is just plain expensive but, does the job nicely to avoid corrosion of the metal body members.

Shiny steel works good.

Keep Smiling

Ziggy Gregory

Stainless screens are manufactured for precious metals mining in the mill as carbon sizing and washing using a Spray bar system to help wash away the carbon and eliminate the cyanide and caustic solution from the carbon.

Size

Depending on the size and daily production of the mill it will vary from a simple 4' x 8' to a 4' x 12'.

Both screen cloth and screening machines can be supplied by PEYTEC, Austria.

In fact it is no problem to construct vibrating equipment in stainless. There are some basice rules to be concerned, then reliable designs are possible.

Should this vibrating device be completely from stainless? Or the material touched surfaces only?

Such and other questions may come up to give reliable answers how big a stainless construction may get.

Stainless Screens And Media

You don't have to go outside the United States to get a stainless steel screen. Simplicity has made them in Michigan for years. They are used freq. in many food and drug industries. There are only a few components that can't be made from SS, ie...parts of the drive mechanism. The screen box, bolts, supports, decks, and media can all be manufactured of SS in various grades. With the price of stainless steel right now, many also consider hot dip galvanizing as well.
