Solids Flow Measurement In Conveying Lines
James,
In my opinion, presently there is no device that can measure the flow rate of solids in dilute phase conveying lines. In dense phase the flow rate could be measured if the line runs almost full but in other types of dense phase conveying accuracy will be very low because of changes in the shape and number of slugs as the solids travel through the pipe line.

Flow Measurement - Solids In Gas Stream
Hi All,
I would like to know if there are off the shelf instrucments to measure solid tonnage rate in a pipeline.
Data is
pulversised fine coal about 6pth in a steel pipe - pneumatic conveying line from milling circuit to main burner
We do not need to measure the air (gas) portion, we need the solids rate in tph.
Thanks
James ■
