Hi Again:

I want to use blast furnace slag with Cement Clinker for grinding in a ball mill. The slag is often having moisture content of around 15%.

Do I have to install a separate dryer for slag or will it be possible to control the moisture in the grinding process itself.

Thanks for reading and regards,

Rohit

Hi Rohit

it should be possible to control the moisture in the grinding prcess

by using our moisture measurement system Typ LIEBHERR Litronic FMS II. More information you could find:

If there are any question please free to contact me:

It depends on how much slag you asre using, i.e. how much water you have to evaporate. Drying capacity in a mill is limited by the amount of drying gas you can pull through the mill, and by the due point. You don't want hydration taking place in your dust collection system.

PLEASE ALSO NOTE THAT SLAG IS ALREADY VERY ABRASSIVE BY ITS NATURE AND WITH MOISTURE CONTENTS IT WILL BE MORE AND IT WILL EFFECT ON MILL LINERS AND ALSO ON LIFE OF GRINDING MEDIA.

WE HAVE PUT SLAG DRYER IN ONE OF THE GRINDING UNITS IN INDIA.
