Steel Cord Belts Damage

Posted in: , on 29. Sep. 2004 - 12:46

Dear Collegues,

I was called to give a consulting to one of my client that has installed a long steel cord belt.

The belt suffering of damage in the wires due to corrosion of the same in some point of belt.

I discuss about the possibility to check the belt with an X-Ray equipment as used for telepheric wires.

Do you know, honorables collegues, if exist and if you got experience, for some X-Ray equipment to install, in order to verify the belts in all lwnght and wide, in order to detect faulty cables and actual state of steel cord belts.

Other suggestion can be proposed and are welcome.

Thanks and best regards.

Dear Pessina,

The best inspection technique available in the industry, by my opinion, is:

http://www.conveyorbelttech.com/

Look at their Belt C.A.T. Scanning

They can see and report on more steel cable damage than a scanning x-ray except for rubber separation.
