WHAT do we look for when we are experiency this TROUBLE?
The trouble is ERRATIC VIBRATION of my screen box......
and the troubleshooting question is WHY Is this happening????
PC = PROBABLE CAUSE
PR = PROBABLE REMEDY
................
PC - Slipping drive belts, or over tensioned drive belts
PR - Adjust belts per mfr specs, replace worn, frayed or
or stretched belts
...............
PC - Voltage drop
PR - Check power supply for consistency vs fluctuating
..................
PC - Broken suspension parts
PR - Replace suspension parts (coil springs, rubbers, etc)
...................
PC - Throwing of drive belts
PR - Misaligned belts, check snubbers, plugged parts and
check belt lengths AND check deep groove pulley vs
standard groove pulley being used. Should be deep to
keep belts in the grooves on screening equipment.
...................
PC - Loose drive or body parts
PR - Replace or properly torque all bolts. Remember, the
more loose parts running at their own little frequency
equals the more ERRATIC the screen box gets!
......................
PC - The screen is operating near the natural frequency of the
support structure
PR - Install some X or cross bracing to stuctural support area
.....................
PC - The screen is operating at or near CRITICAL SPEED
PR - Too FAST generally, change speed per manufacturer's
recommendations. Too fast means over critical point
designed for and typically leads to catostrophic
failure. VERY VERY COSTLY
......................
PC - Counterweight settings changed and do NOT MATCH now
PR - Match counterweights to rebalance the screenbox. At
one point or another, a counterweight may in fact just
fly off the unit and the instant EXTRA VIBRATION should
cause you to check the flywheels for missing parts
WISHING you good vibrations as usual,
