Conveyor Design Software

Posted on 16. Jul. 2003 - 12:34

I have tried most of them and ended up purchasing Belt Analyst II. I find it very user friendly and easy to learn.

I am not knocking the others they are all very good. This was just my personal preference. Websites offering the best software packages software are:

Belt Analyst - www.overlandconveyor.com

Beltstat - www.conveyor-dynamics.com

Helix Delta T - www.chempute.com/deltat.htm

Probelt - www.probelt.com

Dodge (Rockwell Automation) provides free software for small conveyor design but is very limited and totally geared towards their products but works very well for quick calculations of horsepower and tensions for short conveyors. Don't have a current link for it but would be available from your Dodge Rep.

Hope this helps.

We came to know that, you are supplying Dust less Chutes for Belt Conveyor Transfer Points. As we are in leaders of Indian Cement Industry, we hope your product is very useful to us. So, let we have your broucher / catalogue and product details for our records and consideration in various up-coming projects.

Early response in this regards is highly appreciated.

Dustless Transfer

Posted on 20. Jul. 2010 - 01:30

CDI will have a granular flow brochure sent this week by electronic transfer.

We have developed the art of defining transfer station geometries that minimize dust generation to levels not previously available. Hydraulic jump can be identified and eliminated.

We will shortly have a new granular flow code tradenamed "ROCKY" with non-round irregular shaped particles with a large range of sizes.

ROCKY will have two-way coupling 3-D solids (rocks) to gas dynamics (dust). The version will be released for commercial usage when the user friendly interface is completed. First release will be all solid. Second relase this year will include full gas dynamics.

Millions of particles (fine to large) can be simulated.

Additional features include:

1. Belt wear indices

2. Chute liner wear indices with a full pattern of wear gradients

3. Belt power saving comparisons with various chute geometries

4. Belt tracking side thrust from asymmetrical loading = off-center loading

5. Ore-on-belt cross-sectional geometry upon leaving skirtboards

6. Rock consolidation

7. Gas velocities generated throughout the chute and upon leaving the skirt zone

8. Animation of granular flow and gas dynamics into a movie format for client distribuition

May I request the information about the available softwares that can help design Belt Conveyor Systems with Horizontal and Vertical Curves ?

Regards.

Alfavector.

Most of them will do vertical curves.

A number of them will do horizontal (maybe even all of them).

Consider contacting the suppliers to discuss.

Hello Sir,

which better software for conveyor system? Helix or sidewinder or etc?

and for finite elemnt like chute analyze, which one is better ? EDEM Simulation or DEM NEWTON?

thanks

It is difficult to say one is better over the other as they all provide a good program. My personal preference for belt conveyor design is Belt Analyst (BA) and for flow analysis is Bulk Flow Analyst (BFA) both by Overland Conveyor as they are very user friendly. The best way for you to make a decision is to get a free trial copy of each program you are interested in and test them on a known design. There are also many good videos on YouTube for each program.

Any comments on here are only going to be biased on that person's personal preference.

Hello,

Well this thread is quite old, but I am putting this information for benefits of the readers at large, as this information has all time utility.

For Shane Burley:

Well belt conveyor and other related equipment / items high class design programs are also available from me as mentioned in my following website. Please visit this website to know about this:

www.conveyor.ishwarmulani.com

This website has three sections. The aforesaid design programs are listed in Section-1 (Section-2 and 3 have information about my published books).

In general, these programs conform to DIN / ISO norms / standards for design engineering. The design experience / expertise is the consequence of nearly 30 years of work experience in decision making position, in Indo-German companies of international reputation.

As said above, to see these available design programs, please visit my aforesaid website. For further information and order you can communicate with me on my email address:
