Minimum Space between Belt Joints

Can anyone guide me with respect to the minimum space to be provided between vulcanizing joints. If there is no specific number, what are the criteria to be adopted to decide the maximum no of joints that can be allowed in a belt or the minimum distance to be maintained between tow joints?
