Posted in: , on 30. Jan. 2006 - 06:12

Please suggest me with complete calculation how to find the required Power of Motor and Gear Box (with conveyor). This is the data that I have:

Belt Conveyor:

Thick : 15 mm

Width: 1400 mm

Long : 370 mm

Lime Stone density: 2 ton/m3

Belt Density: 1,2 ton/m3

Max lime stone above conveyor: 111 m3

Pulley radius:0,4055 m

Conveyor Capacity: 2000 ton/hour

Weight of Belt per meter: 15 Kgs or for 450 m2: 6 ton

Motor

Input/Output Speed: 1480/64,92 rpm

Shaft Position: Right Angle

Output Shaft: Solid

Accecories: Backstop

Motor-Gear Box: Using Fluid Coupling

Thank you very much...

Dear Mr. Amrizal

Conveyor design and calculation of power tension etc. is a serious subject and it cannot be stated in few paragraphs or pages in this forum.

To begin with, you can refer to DIN / ISO etc. to know the basic formula for calculating power and other features for a belt conveyor. However such standard states the main formulae etc. without explanations and reasons in detail. For proper understanding of the whole process, it is advisable that you refer to available literature.
