Dynamic Loading on Idlers

Hello everyone.

Today I'm interested in the dynamic loading on idler frames and how this will influence the design of a belt scale.

In a belt scale designer's perfect world. the load is purely perpendicular to the frame and the conveyor never vibrates. Howerer, this is not the case when we get involved with these massive conveyors moving almost 10000 TPH of material at nearly 500 FPM. In addition, the problems get more complicated when huge dump trucks shake the ground 100ft away when they dump.

Could you please share your advice for consideration of the following?

- loads from belt to idler frame in the direction of belt travel

- sideways loading of the belt onto the idlers perpendicular to belt travel

- vibration of the conveyor itself during operation

- ground shaking loads

Some technical resource listings would be great.

Thanks
