Belt-boken protect device

Posted in: , on 28. Jul. 2008 - 14:57

Dear Sirs,

Would any one kindly introduce one kind of belt-broken protective device, to protect the belt against slipping down in case of belt breakage, which happens casurally for some main inclined drift belt conveyors here in some coal mines.

Thanks much in advance.

Dear all,

That's the "conveyor belt arrestor".

Please recommend some cost-effective safety brands.

Thanks all.

Not exactly what you are seeking, though this type is availiable:

http://www.rematech-sudbury.com/prod...20Arrestor.pdf

There are number of idler types, which have been discussed on this forum previously.

Assuming the devices were to work, the structure needs to be suitable to resist the imposed loads.

The focus should probably be on preventing the break (suitable selection, treatment, maintenance and monitoring etc).

Regards,

Lyle

Search for the RoCon unit made, if I remember, by Redler Ltd in the UK.

Thanks Lyle,

Rematech hasn't supplied such device (conveyor belt arrestor)any more, even though they have their patent.

Do your know other kind of arrestor.

Thanks Designer,

It's not the kind of device you mentioned. It should be belt arrestor, or clamp, preventing runnaway in case of belt breakage, or hold the belt during maintenance.

Designer,

You may come across such device, "conveyor belt arrestor", samilar as the patent :WO/2004/016531. which is not availble from Rematech. Maybe other companies supply the same device.

Have you used or seen it in some project?

Thanks a lot.

a kind of convyor roller can solve this problem, ANTI-BACK roller, which is suitable for inclined belt conveyor, when belt broken and slip down, the roller do not run back with belt and the friction prevent belt slipping on.

do everyone think so? be glad to get your opinion.
