Dri Storage
Dear Sir,
Is it coal based or gas based DRI? If it is gas based, then tell me which process -- MIDREX or HyL.
Gas based DRI by MIDREX , you cannot store in the open yard. I am storing DRI in the yard in ANIE STEEL, ABU DHABI in the open yard after passivation. But the height is 2.5 M. It is by HyL -ZR process.
Regards.

Re: Dri Storage
Dear Mr. Banerjee,
Thanks for the response. Yes, it is for HYL process.
You said, storing in open yard after passivation.
Does it mean that we have to have Silos with inert gas arrgt, where the DRI is kept for minimum 48 hours or so in inert atmosphere?
The height of 2.5 mtrs is to restrict the material degradation or is there any other reason?
Awaiting your response, please.
Regards

Dri Storage
Dear Sir,
You are correct. But we have to wait for 72 hours instead of 48 hours.
Regards.

Re: Dri Storage
Actually yes, the right thing to do is stored it in a more safety place that it couldnt be the start of the mess. An open yard is basically an inviting place where several factors may trigger to loose the capacity of the property. ■
DRI Storage
Dear all,
Can DRI (Direct Reduced Iron) be stored in open yard?
I was told that DRI with high carbon losses it's fire catching property.
Awaiting your feedbacks.
