Re: Vent Volume Of Clinker Silo

Dear vsm 864,

The filter area and the extraction fan airflow must be based on the incoming air flow from the pneumatic conveying installation and the kettle volume in comparison to the void volume above the clinker in case of a filled silo.

Also the opening pressure of a conveying pressure kettle must be accounted for.

Under the set conditions, a small negative pressure must be maintained in the silo, to prevent dust emissions. (F.i. through the safety over pressure valve)

In case of a flat storage, possible leaks and wind pressure must be compensated.

Have a nice day

Teus

Hi,

In order to calculate the bag filter volumer for a clinker silo one must know Clinker feed rate (tph), width of clinker conveyor, Free fall (max) of material from the silo top.

However thumb rule is, 1200 cubic meter per meter width of conveyor width, if it is a steel pan conveyors. In order to be cautious, you may take 25% extra and based on the feel, open or close the damper.

Hope, it helps you.
