Choosing an Exciting Angle for Vibrating Feeder

Most of the vibrating feeders are working in the near-resonant conditions, and the materials are in a state of continuously being thrown, so they generally have a high mechanical index. But taking the level of productivity of the machine, the transport distance and the size of the vibrating mass into account, attention should be paid to avoiding affecting the normal transference of materials due to the insufficient rigidity. Usually, the mechanical index of vibrating feeder should be controlled as K = 35, and the throwing index should be controlled as Kp = 1.4 - 2.5. When transporting brittle materials, in order to reduce the over broken of materials during transportation, the smaller throwing index should be adopted, or a higher frequency and smaller amplitude should be selected under the certain throwing index to reduce the relative impacting velocity between the materials and the chute.

On the line of sand production, electromagnetic vibrating feeder can be used to feed crushers continuously and evenly, and to coarsely separate the materials, just like the valve for the adjustment of the current volume, which is the necessary equipment in the automation of flowing operation. In terms of the structure, the electromagnetic vibrating feeder can be divided into reciprocating linear chute vibrating feeder (briefly called linear chute type) and twisting spiral chute vibrating feeder (briefly called disk type), and their working principles are basically same. The differences are the linear chute type is generally used to distribute powder or granular materials, or to clean, separate, dry, heat or cool materials, while disk type is generally used to transfer materials with certain shape and size, which need oriented consolidation.

The size of exciting angle and installation angle is decided according to the conveying speed, the wear on the tank and crushing degree requirements of the material. Theoretically, starting from the maximum transport speed, the optimal excitation angle can be decided by the mechanical index. But in fact, many factors can affect the conveying speed, so a comprehensive analysis is needed.

Thank you.

I had not properly realised the autogenous comminution behaviour of an over-zealous vibrator until a few minutes ago.

It has been mentioned briefly in the past by some manufacturers but no limiting values were offered (to me anyway).
