Simplification for the screw conveyor realization

One of the problems encountered by conveyors constructors and end-users is the necessity to add intermediary bearings on long conveyor installations. Usage of these bearings is to avoid friction of the steel screw against the side of the trough. Jamming can occur at the bearings by the material passing though, producing engine torque augmentation and especially the inevitable material build-up in the bearings themselves. The time of intervention for the maintenance can be important and explosion incidents can occur.

One of the advantages of the Archimedys solution is to be able to realize long screws without intermediary bearings. The polymer modules constituting the modular Archimedes’s screw behave like bearings. No need to plan for support zones and no need to intervene for preventive or corrective maintenance.
