Victam International appoints Pieter Kannegieter as Industry Consultant



Henk van de Bunt, Victam International’s General Manager announced at a recent meeting that Pieter Kannegieter would be joining Victam as of the 1st July in the role of Industry Consultant.

Henk went on to say that “Pieter brings a wealth of experience, knowledge and energy to the Victam team and I would like to take this opportunity of welcoming Pieter and wishing him every success whilst working on Victam Asia 2010 in Bangkok and also on Victam International 2011 that will be held in Cologne for the first time”.

Pieter has been involved with exhibitions since 1972 and started as an account manager for several trade shows in Utrecht, The Netherlands. After four years Pieter was promoted and became a sales representative for technical trade shows.

During the early eighties Pieter started to travel as international sales manager for a packaging exhibition and also for an event for logistics. It was here that gained valuable experience and organized a number of National Pavilions for Dutch Industry, together with NCH (Economic Affairs) and the Dutch Packaging Centre.

From 1990 until 1996 he was key account manager, responsible for major companies and international corporations such as Philips, IBM, etc. It was during 1996 that he joined the International Department of VIV/Jaarbeurs with a special task to promote and sell the “agro industry” shows internationally; and as an international sales manager Pieter travelled the world.

From 2006 until 2008 he was a sales manager for VIV, being responsible for the Asia-Pacific region. During this time Pieter devoted one day a week to coaching, training and supporting young members of the sales team in Utrecht.

Pieter was married in 1980 and he and his wife, Riesje, have a daughter of 25 and a son of 27. Both of their children live in Amsterdam.

For more than 20 years Pieter has enjoyed playing hockey with his friends at weekends and he is a keen supporter of Ajax Football Club Amsterdam.
