Interesting, one offer has more than twice the installed power than the other???

Maybe, but the specification calls for a CONVEYOR not a FEEDER so perhaps the material rains down over the full length of the inlet.

But really an inadequate specification, and we see them all the time don't we. Fifty pages on paint specifications, thirty on motor specifications, twenty on required documentation oh, and four lines of machine specification omitting the material to be handled and the handling rate!

Re: installed power - can't comment on why another supplier needs double the installed power we do - possibly inferior design?

We are happy that our machine is fit for the purpose intended and in accordance with the specification - however adequate or inadequate this may be considered to be.

Just for interest, did you assume a flooded inlet and design as a feeder?

(Yes of no will suffice)

Nobody questioned that?

Mantoo suggested it looked more like a screw feeder, while the specification described it as a screw conveyor. As we all know a feeder will require more power than conveyor which might have explained the power difference.

PS, this anonimous poster has 500+ posts to his name.
