Cumberland Introduces Rugged, Versatile Single Shaft Shredder

South Attleboro, MA –Cumberland is excited to announce the next generation of Single Shaft Shredders to its expanding size reduction line; the CXS Series is designed for processing plastic waste for reclamation and recycling and can handle large extruder purgings to medical waste, cardboard, synthetic fiber and carpet.

The CXS1500, CXS2000 and CXS3000 shredders are built with rugged construction for demanding, specialized applications with numerous configurations available to suit just about any need. Three different rotor types are available for flexible processing, and each rotor is equipped with square cutters (60 mm) for efficient cutting of material. Heat build-up and degradation are also reduced.

Serrated ram plates hold materials into the rotor, making processing large awkward pieces easier. A sturdy “swing-style” ram minimizes space and allows product to fall into the rotor, outboard mounted bearings reduce contamination and features a large 29.5” (750 mm) diameter rotor for positive ingestion. Bolted in cutter seats allow for easy removal and maintenance. The low speed rotor (54 rpm) transmits high cutting torque for tough applications.

Cumberland Engineering is the world leader in size reduction equipment, while also offering a complete line of downstream extrusion equipment. To find out more about the CXS Series or other Cumberland products, please contact John Farney at:
