Rulmeca Pulleys in Vietnam

Motorized Pulleys Power Concrete Conveyors

Rulmeca Motorized Pulleys Drive Belt Conveyors to build the Se San 3 Dam on the Se San River in Vietnam.

The Se San Hydropower Project is a huge, impressive project requiring many innovative machinery ideas to build the remotely-located dam.

One of the most advanced engineering ideas is the "Dual-Drive RULMECA Motorized Pulley" concept. Two 50 HP Motorized Pulleys drive each of the four 150 ft long conveyors, which are suspended from large free-swinging cranes.

Thanks to the compact and reliable design of RULMECA Motorized Pulleys, the conveyor construction was very light. There are no torsional forces because the RULMECA Motorized Pulleys are located between the conveyor trusses, giving the free-swinging conveyors excellent balance.

To provide balance and power, each conveyor is equipped with two RULMECA type 800M 50 HP Motorized Pulleys, one at the head and one at the tail. RULMECA Motorized Pulleys enable this kind of conveyor design to haul 1,400 tph of wet concrete.
