More Success for ThyssenKrupp Fördertechnik Bucketwheel Reclaimers

At the end of January 2003, ThyssenKrupp Fördertechnik’s business unit Materials Handling of St. Ingbert Rohrbach, Germany, was awarded a turnkey contract, against strong international competition, to supply another bucketwheel stacker reclaimer by the Compagnie des Bauxites de Guine in Kamsar, Guinea, which has been a customer of TKF for many years.

The machine has been designed for a maximum stacking and reclaiming capacity of 4,500 tons of bauxite per hour and will be installed on an existing stockyard, where it will replace another manufacturer’s machine which recently failed after more than 30 years of operation.

The main technical features of the machine to be built are as follows:

-Design stacking capacity 4500 t/h

-Design reclaiming capacity 4500 t/h

-Boom length45 m

-Cutting circle diameter of bucket wheel 8.5 m

-Total weightapprox. 740 t

-Installed motor powerapprox. 850 kW

Commissioning of the new machine is scheduled to take place in September, 2004.

ThyssenKrupp Fördertechnik will be responsible for the complete engineering, fabrication and erection of the machine until handover to the client.

For ThyssenKrupp Fördertechnik, the award of this contract continues a long-standing and successful cooperation with the Compagnie des Bauxites de Guine, which has existed for over thirty years.
