Grupo CICE Modernises its Fleet of Mobile Harbour Cranes –

Gottwald Mobile Harbour Crane Model 6 Sold to Veracruz, Mexico

Düsseldorf (Germany), July16, 2009Corporation Integral de Comercio Exterior, S.A. de C.V. (Grupo CICE), Mexico, has recently ordered a state-of-the-art Generation 5, G HMK 6407 Mobile Harbour Crane, a variant of Model 6, from Gottwald Port Technology GmbH (Gottwald) for use in its terminal in the Port of Veracruz. This crane has a maximum lifting capacity of 100 tonnes, a particularly impressive lifting capacity curve and a maximum radius of 51 m, which makes it well able to handle containers alongside vessels up to post-Panamax size.

The new crane will be shipped form the manufacturer's Düsseldorf facility at the end of this month and will enter service in September 2009 in the Port of Veracruz on the Gulf of Mexico. Apart from handling containers, this universally applicable, diesel-electric Mobile Harbour Crane will also be moving general and project cargo including components for wind turbines.

The Model 6 Mobile Harbour Crane brings to six the total number of cranes ordered by Grupo CICE from Gottwald, a list which includes a Generation 5, G HMK 7608 Mobile Harbour Crane, a variant of Model 7 with a maximum lifting capacity of 140 tonnes, which has been in operation since 2007.

Leoncio Perez Lopez, Director of the Grupo CICE, commented on the new order: "Our experience with Gottwald's products, ever since we bought our first two HMK 280 E Mobile Harbour Cranes in 2001 have been exceptionally good, and this applies equally to the new Generation 5 machines. The Model 6 crane, the second Generation 5 crane we have bought, modernises our existing fleet and prepares ideally for the anticipated handling jobs alongside post-Panamax vessels."

Andreas Moeller, Senior Sales Manager at Gottwald, added with reference to the new order: "This Model 6 Mobile Harbour Crane provides Grupo CICE yet again with a first-class machine which stands out head and shoulders above the crowd in terms of its performance, reliability, safety and total cost of ownership. The electrical drives fitted to all Gottwald cranes offer not only economic benefits due to the improved efficiency rating, they also ensure reduced fuel consumption, which is a great contribution to sustainable environmental awareness."
