FELEMAMG SELF-CLEANING MAGNETIC GRATES

Very small size products, such as sugar, salt, chocolate, granulated plastics, sand, felspar, talcum, etc., suffer during their manufacture processes, from pollution by ferrous particles through the abrasion of the installations.

The products require continuous and automatic cleaning whether they are end products or if they form part of another manufacturing process.

FELEMAMG self-cleaning magnetic grates are basically made up of a non-magnetic stainless steel box, inside which there are several magnetic bars laid out in rows, forming what is known as a magnetic grate. In a working situation, all the magnetic bars are in the area of passage of material and they attract all the magnetic particles that may be circulating among the material to be purified.

When cleaning, the bars are slowly moved by means of pressurised air from the working position towards the exterior, until they end up totally outside the work area. In this movement they drag with them all the particles and pieces being withheld, coming off in the evacuation area at the moment in which the bushing, adjusted to the external pipe, prevents the magnetic bar from continuing.

One of these sets of equipment has been supplied to AZUCARERA EBRO for its factory in Seville, with three rows of bars. In this way, while one row is in the cleaning process, the other two are maintained in the passage of the product. In this manner it is ensured that there is no interruption in the process and that the product does not pass without being treated via the magnetic bars.
