DRAGON STEEL EXPANDS CAPACITIES

AUMUND SUPPLIES BUNKER DISCHARGE WAGONS

In April two further AUMUND bunker discharge wagons (BEW) will be delivered to Dragon Steel. The steel producer belongs to the Taiwanese concern China Steel Corporation (CSC). The BEW were ordered in November 2010 and complete the second phase of the expansion uograde which commenced last year. The BEW have a diameter of 3000 mm and a conveying capacity of 500 t/h. They are employed for transport of (iron ore)-sinter, dolomite rock and limestone.

Since 2007 Dragon Steel has been continuously investing in the expansion of the plant in Taichung City, at which the storage and handling capacities also needed to be correspondingly increased. From the very start new AUMUND bunker discharge wagons were planned in order to secure frictionless cooperation with the pre-existing identical wagons.

In the past year the expansion upgrade was continued and further BEW were ordered. Whilst the first unit has already been delivered, both of the last wagons should start their journey to Taiwan in April.

The supply of bunker discharge wagons to the CSC concern has a long tradition. Already in 1986 the first BEW were supplied by LOUISE Fördertechnik to Taiwan. Five years later the company acquired by the AUMUND Group and the good cooperation with China Steel was continued.

The AUMUND Group is active on four continents. The conveying and storage specialists have special expertise at their disposal when dealing with bulk materials. With their high degree of individuality, both its technically sophisticated as well as innovative products have contributed to the AUMUND Group today being a market leader in many areas of conveying and storage technology.
