Residence Time In Silo

I would suggest that fan oven tests would be the most positive method of establishing the drying characteristics of the pellets.
Its is interesting to see the assumption that a discharge rate of one tonne per hour will give a residence time of two hours in a two tonne silo. Even with a mass flow hopper, there is a velocity contour across the converging section, with material in the centre moving faster than that against the wall. unless of special design, there could be an appreciable range of residence times that reduces the efficiency of the equipment. ■
PC Pellet Drying Silo
Has anybody got a drying curve of PC pellet?
I used 3000NM3/h 120degree C hot air to dry 2 ton silo. The pellet flow from the top of the silo down to the bottom will 1 ton/hour rate. So material will remain heated for 2 hours in the silo. ■
